in response to fred2626...Hello, I don't know how your unemployment insurance works where you are but here in Canada if I were hypothically were to have surgery and off work for an extended period of time our employment insurance kicks in for sick pay. Does yours? If so I would look into that.
I am having a brain surgery that is going to take me away from work for aprox. eight months. My wife has a job but not enough to pay all of our bills. Any ideas how to get through this time?
in response to karin@lbibeachlover.com...My husband and I are also in that Large Boat. We have been trying to get into the Home Affordable program for over 2 years and are still in limbo land!!!!! I have contacted our state reps and even the white house!!!!! We are still waiting and that has been several months ago!!!! Do contact your state reps as that is what they are getting paid for!!!!! The Best thing for everyone to do is get down on your knees and ask GOD for help and for GOD to help those rendering the decisions!!!!! GOD sure has saved us many times and GOD is THE ANSWER!!!!! I Pray everyone gets the help they need as it is terrible to be going through this and fighting for our homes!!!! I compare my home to Elvis's Graceland as I know he had Great Love for his home!!! I call our home Heartland as We Love it with all our heart and are PROUD of our accomplishments with it!!!! Again I wish you all the bet and you will be in my prayers!!!! Thanks......Frogina
in response to karin@lbibeachlover.com...Wish I could help you all, cause it would help me too. I'm almost 50, disabled 12 years ago after an accident. I'm also a single dad of 2 daughters, which are increasing in cost as they age too, and being a father, I want to at least give them what they need. Which is more often not what they want though. I bought my home 20 years ago and with all the increases in insurance, taxes, utilities and just cost of living, I can no longer meet the monthly payments of 1200. Luckily, I only paid 40k for my home and did not over buy even though I was making good money and felt I was set in my career. Ive contacted everyone I could think of and there is no break for the disabled, not even with the city, state or fed gov. And of course my SSDI payment puts me $4 over the limit to get assistance like food stamps
It seems we all have a similar tale. I'm 66 years old. 3 years ago I was a successful dentist with a great income and a great home. Now after a stroke, I am unable to practice and have gone through all resources. My SS disability barely covers just the bills and doesn't come close to mortgage payment.
I see all the posts, but no advice. Any help anywhere?
We are also in the same boat.My husband got bucked of a horse and broke his neck.Hes now a quad.It all started on sept.6th 09.Now hes home and disability only pays him 782.a month. Are house payment is 1087.a month.not includding any other bills. We are at april 9th and no other way to pay next months. We have 6 kids together.4 are his and 2are mine.My store could go on and on ...I know there are many more in are shoes too.We just got to keep going and keep praying
Wow - I am in the same boat as you !!I am entering Forclosre as my Disability as well does not even cover my Mtg. payment ! Have you received any advise or help regarding your situation? I do not know where to even turn to. There has to be someone/some program that helps the disabled. Kindly let me know if you have made any progress.
I am in a smilar position but fortuntaley I am well, my husband has MS and he is cursing me and his mother is blaming me and we have to pay the rent and other utilities and I am looking for a job, he gets some monies. This is my cause and effect and I am changing it by believing that I did all these things and not blaming anyone just making different causes and I will get different effects.
I am a Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist and it is about the Mystic Law of Cause and Effect from time without beginning, that means we are responsible for all that we think, say and do it is about the Lotus Sutra interperted by Nichiren Daishonin and best English translation by Burton Watson.
I am not blaming you but by denyng cause and effect and think things are outside of ourself we get the negative effects, such as illness and proverty but by believing in cause and effect and the Lotus Sutra we can change all of this.
It says don't presume to fathom the blessing of the Gohonzon (that is a scroll of the enlightened live condition of Nchren Daishonin) only people who have sincere faith have their prays answered.
I have actual proof I have a flat and I have a enough food so I will continue to have strong faith and I am sure I will have a job or the monies when I need it the most.
Well I also am taking action looking for work, trying to find out what kind of benefts I can get.
Why don't you try charties and maybe they have grants and also call the utility companies tell them of your situation also I can let you know about the Nichiren Shoshu Temple in USA.
I am 55 years old and permanently disabled. I can no longer afford my car payments. I have to drive over 100 miles for doctor visits, so obviously I need my car.
Here's my question; in California can creditors repossess your car if you are unable to make payments for several months?
Well all i can say is good luck to that. I have been looking for the same thing. No one, not even the government is givning hand outs anymore. My suggestion, do what I had to and get a job. I was on wealfare for disability and could not survive off that with two children. If my a chance you do find someone to help, tell me cause I sure could use it too.

I want to open a carehome for persons with severe and profound disabilities. I live in a very small community that has no such resource and desperatley needs this service. The nearest care home in the state is over 90 miles away, which means most individuals that need this service must relocate away from their families. I have over 10 years experience working with the disabled population and have a passion and determination to help people in this capacity.
I need funding in the form of donations or grants to help purchase a house with 4+ bedrooms, 2+ baths. This is assuming each bedroom will be shared between 2 clients, with 1 room for a live in staff. I don't know where to start on this mission. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I am a 33 yr. old woman living on a mere income of $800 a month from social security because I am disabled. The amount of income I receive is not enough to live on, but because of my disability I am having trouble finding work.
I am disabled from a traumatic brain injury and am seeking assistance for higher education or training to get back in the work force. I also would be interested in a grant or any way to start a business. I have not been able to go back to my old job for over two years. My brain damage will not permit me to return to my former occupation.
I had a hunting accident in Dec.of 2003.which caused 2 discs to rupture, causing me severe pain.In which I had to stop working,I have no way of supporting myself or getting these discs fixed.I am a certified diesel technician, but can no longer perform that particular profession.I need help paying my home, car, electricity and the insurance on my home and car plus the internet access used searching for help!!!I would like to get these discs replaced but can not afford that and have no way of getting relief at this time!Since this accident my home has become a little run down,it needs a few repairs, that need to be taken care of.........In short I need financial help!!!!
for reasons too complicated to define i have been trying to overcome some really bad luck (what a differance a year makes) i,m trying to get back to work and join the ranks of the self sufficiant , i am disabled from a back injury and want to start a new career and get off the disabled list ,i have found a job that will not only help me do that but will be helping others recover from their losses also, but first i need to get my life jumpstarted , i need some temporary assistance in regaining my license so i can be deployed for this position ,can,t seem to come up with the cash to fix my license and pay my bills at the same time feels like a quagmire .i need assistance soon or will lose this oppertunity.

I just want to live somewhere where it is nice and quiet, no gunshots to scare me, no neighbors to ruin my vehical, that respect others property. Somewhere I can actually feel safe to go outside and visit with my neighbors. Not worry that I'll offend them and have my belongings vandelized or stolen. A place to be safe, happy, with my dogs and cat.

Scholarships are FREE
Most people going to college get one scholarship and then apply for a student loan to cover the rest of their educational expensis. This is OK, but student loans have to be paid back. They cannot be forgiven even with Bankruptcy. The only way out of a student loan is by dying or becoming so disabled that you can not work.
But there is no need to get a student loan. You can get as many scholarships as you want to pay for your schooling. There is no limit on how many you can have. And you can get grants to pay for all the rest. All it takes is a little effort on your part to hunt down and apply for these scholarships and grants.
Go to www.yourgrant.com/scholarship.htm and check it out. With a little effort and study on your part, you could go to college FREE.
I am a single mother and 41 years old. I was recently diagnosed with perifphrial genetic Neuopathy. I am in an electric wheelchair most of the time and am currently unable to work. I don't have a vehicle, due to having to sell it to pay my bills. My ex-husband foiled my plans of getting a home 5 years ago, and is currently trying to take my daughter away. One of the reasons I would like to get a loan for a home, is to prove to my daughter that we are stable! Something my ex-husband tells her because we live in an apartment. I have always wanted a place of my own and I have now found the perfect place. It is a two bedroom, one bath house all on ONE level! It has a decent yard, not to big or too small and a great big garage! It does have city water and sewer, as well as a 70 foot well. It has LP gas with forced air hot and cold. It comes with all the appliances that I would need, so I would not have to buy anything new. I am meeting with resistance at evey corner since my disability hit in 2003. I have lost most of my friends, my vehicle, my rented two-story townhome, and the worst of all is lossing my birth family. They are all siding with my ex-husband to take my daughter away. I know that a home will not fix the problems between my birth family and myself, however, it would sure help my daughter to fill grounded in the community that we both love. It is a small town, filled with the people I had only read about in books. We have more churches then bars, and there is only one main street, it is a place where you could leave your doors open at night, if you wanted. Everyone looks out for their neighbor and we all pitch in where and when we are needed. Both myself and my daughter love Holdingford, Minnesota and I humbly request your assistance in obtaining a loan to aquire a home in Holdingford. They are asking 84,900 and I offered them 80,000. It sounds like they are willing to take it, sadly, I have no money for the down payment even. My mind is sharp and I very much want to give both my daughter and myself the security a permanent home would give us! I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. Thank you, in adavnce for your help regarding the matter of home financing for an American with a Disability.

I
am a single parent of a 12-year old girl and a 19 year-old college
student and am on permanent disability with Multiple Sclerosis. I
am able to drive, and my daughter is active in sports, etc. I
receive no child support from the father. I have had a couple of
used cars in the last couple years, one of which had to be junked after
over $1,500 in repairs because it needed a new engine. The car I
purchased for $750.00 a couple months ago is also not working, after
having put over $800 in repairs into it. I have no money at all
to begin to get the car going again. I thought maybe there was a
good samaritan out there who had a reliable older car they wouldn't
mind donating so that I can get my daughter to her sporting events, to
my doctors, the grocery store, etc.

If you happen to be one of those lucky people on this earth that is able to buy excessively anything you want, travel aimlessly and have everything in life you ever wanted, please take a moment and think of me and my 2 children who currently have no place to live and barely anything to eat. I am currently "staying" with a verbally abusive man who amazingly threatens to kick us out daily, because we had nowhere else to go. I am a single parent of 2 , one child is disabled with Down's Syndrome. Picture this.... Have you ever had to write checks to those check cashing places that give you your whole paycheck in advance but charge a $30 fee every 2 weeks? Well I currently have 3 of them out, to include everything I had of value in the pawn shop getting ready to lose it. Have you had your house and car repossessed lately? Do you have a son who is a Senior who you could not buy a yearbook or class ring for or get his Senior Pictures made? Do you have an old dying dog who needs medical attention who you cannot even get his yearly shots? Have you ever lived on peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, chicken leg quarters and ground turkey meat? Do you have an abcessed tooth that you cannot even afford the copayment your insurance requires to get it fixed? Have you ever lived without utilities? Have you ever had to write a check before payday hoping it wouldn't bounce, just so you'd have enough gas to get to work? Or better yet, have you ever "tried" to file with Juvenile Court to receive child support "without an attorney?" If not, then you might need to try a reality better than the reality show "A Simple Life" because there are some of us out there who are not as fortunate. Any financial assistance would be greatly appreciated and I can guarantee you this is definately not fraud because I have every piece of information needed to back up my situation. As you can probably tell from my post I am very angry mostly at their fathers. I was not a whore making babies. I was actually married to these guys who contributed to bringing them into this planet. This picture by the way is a Walmart special for $4.95. Pretty good huh? Thanks......
My Husband is 75 and works part time 21 hrs/week. He's very tired all the time. I am 70, disabled insofar as I cannot stand for any length of time. I have a part time job working ten hours a week. We are having trouble paying bills, which makes us have to put implortant things (like car expenses) on our charge card. We need help.
